TEMPORARY GIFTS

Charitable Lead Trusts

A charitable lead trust is the opposite of a life income gift, in that you get the gift back when the benefit is realized to the UA Hillel Foundation. This "temporary gift" enables you to help the UA Hillel build its endowment, or meet a specific objective, while obtaining significant tax and wealth planning benefits for your family.

You can create a charitable lead trust to benefit the UA Hillel Foundation by irrevocably transferring assets into a trust for a set time period. The trust pays income to the UA Hillel and then, when the trust terminates, the assets are returned to you, or pass to someone else you choose, typically a child or grandchild. A charitable lead trust can be an excellent way to substantially reduce or eliminate gift and estate taxes that might otherwise be due on assets you leave to others.

The information on this Web page is for illustration purposes only and should not be considered legal, accounting, or other professional advice. The actual benefits of your gift may vary depending on your individual circumstances. The UA Hillel's development professionals would be happy to assist you and your advisors in determining the best gift plan for you.

If you have questions or would like to learn more about lead trusts, you may contact Michelle Blumenberg at (520) 624-6561 or via email.
