Alternative Spring Break

On the morning of August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina landed on the Gulf Coast of the United States and devastated cities and ruined lives.
Almost 1,200 people died, and millions of lives were changed forever. In the aftermath of the storm, young people - both saddened and outraged by the destruction - stepped up to lead the effort to help the region.
Still, two years later there is much to repair, rebuild, and revive in the area.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Spring Break is the perfect time to give back and help those in need in the Gulf Coast and in the world at large. And although Spring Break seems far away, there are things you can do now to plan for an Alternative Spring Break with Hillel - and experience one of the most rewarding weeks of your life.
For the past two years, the UA Hillel sent students to join hundreds of other Hillel participants from across the country to rebuild homes in Louisiana.
This coming march, we plan to again contribute our time to help repair New Orleans.
This is your chance to make a difference.
